Last quarter we got a bill for £345. They said it was big because they had underestimated our meter usage so we gave accurate meter reading and paid up to date. The next bill we just got is for £266 for summer mopnths. Is this normal? We are two people in a house that is entirely electric. We have a computer that is turned on quite a bit but otherwise don't think we use use any more electric than normal. Whats your Bill?

Call your utility provider and request that the account be reviewed for possible errors. It could be that the meter was misread leading to a higher than normal bill. If that was the case, the next bill should be lower than usual, but you will have to wait three months to find out.

Good luck with your problem.

Certain months are highter. If you use A/C alot it mounts up. Also heat. You can cut the temperture up or down durning those months like Nov-Jan . . Wear more cloths thru the winter keep it down like 70 ,in the summer up to about 76-80. I don't hardley use my water heater . I turn it off and keep it off 3 to 4 days. Then turn it on at night from 9-8am. Then off . I live along. and use cold water for washing , I take baths , when it had been on. This saves alot more than people think. The hot water heater stays hot for 3 or 4 days or more. Just use what I have to. Good Luck Pem

We are in Maryland in the USA and our rates have gone up dramatically this summer - almost 30%. We pay monthly and our house is large - over 4,000 square feet - and the cost is about $200.00/month. We have oil heat.
