I cant believe it either. At first I thought it was some type of internet hoax but I also saw it on the news. At least he died doing something he loved and not sick in a bed or something like that.

I know, its so incredibly sad :( I have been a fan of his and Terri's for yrs, since they first started airing his shows on AP. He was so passonate, full of compassion, love, respect for his job.
He was so enthusiastic.
He was a treasure to this planet, teaching us all about the animals on this planet.
My boys have grown up watching him, and my youngest doesn't really understand.
I will miss seeing new shows that he comes up with. I miss watching Croc Hunter epis.
My heart goes out to Terri,Bindi, baby Bob, his Da, his family , his friends, his beloved animals.
We can all learn a thing or two from Steve...
Steve, you will be missed!! And thank you!!
I in no doubt believe Steve passed away doing what he loved.....

Yes, it is a terible shock, although he did play russian roulette everyday with these wild animals and today was the day he got a loaded barrel.
Yes, i feel he was selfish to get killed in a such a way, when he had a wife and two small children. Some people i know wont ride motorcyles for the same reason.
Steve - May ya rest in peace mate !

I'm busted up over it, big time. I hunt rattlesnakes and reptiles myself, so I always felt a kinship with him. My eleven year old son and I enjoyed his programs, and watching them was a bonding experience for us. I almost felt as if I knew him personally. My son and I even sent Australia Zoo an e mail about an iguana we had caught, and we received a real nice informative reply, not from Steve, but from one of the zoo managers. Terry was always a part of the shows, and if she were here now, I'd give her a hug and cry with her for a while.
I'm a fifty year old hardass, but the news brought tears to my eyes. Life's a real ***** sometimes. My heart goes out to Terry and the rest of his family.

I gew up watching him. My thoughts go out to his family. His kids are pretty young. Like someone else said, at least he died doing what he loved to do. It's quite a loss. Inpired tons of people I'm sure. The world already feels emptier. It's weird because all those times, he seemed almost invincible.

Somehow we knew it was going to happen.
He put his life on the line to entertain and teach us.
