Haven't you ever heard the phrase: A friend in need is a friend indeed? If you want to keep this friend just pull him to the side. Tell him that you don't want to hurt his feelings or anything, but you are tired of footing the bill for this friendship. Tell him that the give and take relationship is supposed to work both ways. A true and understanding friend will get the point. Just in case he's not you might have to duck.(lol)

Try rearranging your schedules so you hang with him during times like inbetween lunch and dinner. Hang out at places where there's less places to spend money.
If he still acts this way, you'll have to confront him about it. a true friend would never do that. If he really needs help, he could get a couseller

I think you should first tell him that you are not his ATM...But, He probably thinks you are fine with buying him all this things, because you haven't confronted him about the situation yet.
And after you do confront him about the situation and he doesn't try to change...you might want to find some new friends. because he wasn't much of a friend in the first place.

Just be up front with him. tell him while you enjoy his company, you don't enjoy footing the bill everytime you all go out. It's not fair to you. let him know that if he can't start paying for himself then maybe you all shouldn't be going out.

talk to him. tell him everything you just typed in this question and offer your help. if he still acts the same, unfortunantly you'll have let him go. he's wasting you money that could be used for something else

Don't invite him over, and if he shows up, tell him you have a date. I had an in-law like this.

He is a user. He will use you as long as you allow him to. I do not want to make you upset, but you will have to be the one to either allow it or to stop it.
