My answer wont be any help to you but I have to comment on that louser who doesnt want to support his child. This scenario is the only thing that makes me wish there were stricter laws in the West. An involuntary vasectomy would soon have him looking for custody of the child, since it would be his only one.
If he is willing to move to another country to avoid responsibility then I doubt you will catch him. Its a bad time for you now but later, you will be so glad that this piece of slime is not around to influence your innocent child. Take care of yourself during the pregnancy. Truly, a child is a blessing. I hope you'll be alright.

"He can run, but he can't hide".
You are at no time in your life to be under any undue stress, so try to relax and not worry too much. Everything will work out.
That being said, if your ex- wants to move to Singapore to avoid paying child support, he needs to realize that he'll be paying more between the cost of moving there and loss of income here. Tell him not to let the airplane door hit him in the *** as he leaves. He is most likely using idle threats to scare or worry you.
You seem like you have a pretty good head on your shoulder. Look at the big picture: Do you want your child being around someone who resents him/her and treats you like crap? No. There are lots of men out there who would be more than happy to find someone like you who'd also willing to open up his own heart to a wonderful woman with a child. Don't settle for this loser. Mister Right is out there looking for you. (BTW, you most likely won't find him in a bar).
Remember, find someone who treats you and your child, your family, and his OWN mother wonderfully.

If this dead beat dad works for an American Company or pays U.S. taxes, then you will get child support because they can pull his support from his checks. Also, owing back child support will go on his credit forever, he will never be able to own anything or have anything that requires you to have good credit as child support that is not paid is a kiss of death. If for some reason, he does get a job working for a foreign country, it may be harder for you to get support, in this case, get a good attorney to remove his parental rights and go on with your business.

Yes get a lawyer!!!
If he absconds you have no chance. Particularly if he chooses the right country. I won't give you any clues on that. If he stays in this country (I am assuming the UK) then you can get your maintenence from him. If he refuses to pay then the magistrates can make an attachment of earnings (the money is deducted from his pay by his employer).

what a bastard. he'll probably be able to dodge the collecter for a little while, but eventually your lawyer should catch up with him, and if he tries to come back to the US he'll be arrested, plus shave to pay back all the money he owes while he's been trying to dodge the bullet. all in all, not a good idea on his part, and its not like it hasn't been done before. your lawyer will probably be familiar with this plan and can handle it. so definitlety hire a lawyer.

All I can say is get the lawyer and get the court case going before he leaves for Singapore. Once he's out of the country it'll be tough getting him to pay anything.

There are International Compacts for Child Support so any order in the US is valid in Singapore.
You can't prevent him from leaving the country, but he can leave the country with a child support judgment looming over his head.

for you slim seeing as the csa has now gone there is no real way of making him pay constantly even if you get the courts involved it is still difficult to make him pay and if he does go you have no chance at all
