So we're setting up a wireless network between my DSL router and my brothers computer with a Motorolla wireless network card and the signal gets disrupted if the computer is in a certain spot. We had the computer downstairs which is a lot farther than my brothers room and it got the signal easily. Then when we brought the comptuer back up and try to get the signal with the computer in the computer desk it gets no signal. If we take it out and put in front of the desk it eventually gets a signal. I think it may be because of the shower on the other side of the wall of my brothers room. What do you think?

There are a number of items that can impact your ability to receive a WiFi signal, including:

1. Metal in the walls between you and the wireless router
2. Wiring in the walls between you and the wireless router
3. The presence of a microwave oven nearby
4. Other 2.4 GHz devices (like a typical cordless phone) near the router or receiving computer

thts quite a common occurence
this can be solved by changing the wireless channel on ur router
try to update ur drivers on the wireless adapters on the computers
try working with g instead of b
there is also a probability of a rouge AP nearby which might case u to lose connection
keep the SSID or the name of ur wireless network hidden
hope this helps
