do you confront him with the things he is doing ,or do you keep him at a distance..he is someone i need to talk to,yet someone who is all for himself.how do i handle this?

I have been there done that. The best thing to do is find other friends and just let him blend into the background. You said you needed to talk to him so I would not talk to him unless I needed something from him. Apparently this is the same way he treats you. Does this have anything to do with something you need? Is this the same reason you are being his friend? Use him then. He is using you!
