All vettes since 1955 have been in the SS category. Since then all vettes were "super sports " cars. Adding that badge now would not make sense.

The SS badge was a Chevy marketing idea to keep up with the GTO, BOSS Mustangs and various MOPAR entries in the muscle car race. Let's keep it for a "Super" Chevy that has higher horsepower, firmer suspension, and distinctive trim from the other models in the same class. This has been the history of the Chevy brand.

A Corvette is sold by Chevy but is not a Chevy. I don't have a "bowtie" trademark anywhere on my vette. It is a completely different animal made with distinctive high performance parts in a separate assembly plant.

I guess an SS for Corvette would be the already Z06 but that badge is not new. It was also worn in 1963 for the first time.

A Corvette super sport would imply the Vette isn't a sports car already. It would be a marketing nightmare.Thats the pupose of the L88.
