I don't see why the hell not - those old classics they make low-riders out of weigh about the same.
But you got your work cut out for you, as you have to re-build your suspension somewhat, to accommodate having the body coming down so close to the chassis.
It's been done, by those who are persistent enough, from time to time you see'em in LA, San Diego, San Fran and even here in Sacramento. Usually its with full sized pickups, But I've seen an occasional old Ford Bronco, and a couple of old suburbans too.
The main problem is that because of the extra mass and higher center of gravity, of the body requires a little more in the way of Air pistons,... But if you want to do it in hydraulics, it is possible. But because of the nature of hydraulics, the effect will be slow, the fluid pump plus the motors & valve assemblies will be a real challenge to configure. Hydraulics is really better suited for a dump truck than to rig your ride as a lowrider, but it is your choice.
Most classic lowriders, don't use bags, but rather they use pneumatic cylinders (air pistons) they dont take up as much space and because its air that is used to lift the vehicle, you need not worry about leaking fluids, as with a hydraulic system.
Hydraulics weigh a hella lot more than a pneumatic lift system, you figure you're spendin a lot on gas now, if you put in a hydrualic rig, you'll be payin out three to five times that, just for gas or diesel.
But its your rig, its your choice,...
I say its possible,... go for it.

But why? Low Joe's Hydraulics bouncy ride limited height adjustment with out cutting and notching the frame and special ft. spindles. It is the case of $500 saddle on a $25 dollar horse isn't it? Given four pumps accumulators 4 hyd. actuators more batterys to power the pumps and about $4 to $5 thousand you can bounce along. Then paint interior murals sound system TV's. Just start with a new Chevy SS truck for better results.
