I'm not afraid of the feds, this country was based upon freedom, why is it so much easier to do the wrong thing than it is to do the right thing?

I'm not ignorant...I know we still have many more "freedoms" than most places.

if you're innocent till proven guilty then there should be no prison until guilt is proven, unless you're a child molester or murderer,etc...You shouldn't go to prison for traffic violations under any circumstances.

You should have been here during the Civil War when it was.

Our planet is quickly becoming a world community. There are many that are resisting this change. During this transition, there will be trouble and turmoil, but this change will happen whether they like it or not.

A typical government that fights this, will simply starve their citizens, which will force them to flee, or revolt.

A terrorist organization that has no country, will simply see to cause trouble for whatever that is worth. I don't see anything good to their aims and goals. It simply looks like an excuse for their own personal goals and glory. They simply subjugate and murder their own followers.

But our own defense is a strong resistance to these forces. Good law and order are important. Of course, it seems like our new airport security regulations are a bit "over the top".

Driving while intoxicated laws are important. Seat belt laws are in our best interest. Speeding laws are in our best interest. Over 40,000 US citizens were killed on highways last year.

Basically, if people used a little more common sense, and if we could control our borders better, there would be a smaller need for law enforcement.

It does seem to be slowly headed that way, but we still have many freedoms. I can read what I want without fear of being persecuted, I can say what I want, I can believe what I want, and I can wear what I want. Granted, there are some problems (such as the part of the Patriot Act that allows the government to see who checks out which library books), but mostly we still are a free country, and we certainly have more freedom than countries that are considered military states.

The lack of freedom does apply to Americans who are not very prosperous. How much freedom can one have when raising three children and working three jobs to support those children? In that sense, the US is headed in the wrong direction, mainly because wealthy politicians are greedy and don't give a damn about how others live. (There are a few who care, but not many.) That's the real problem, in my opinion.

Yes, you are exactly right. We are losing more and more freedom every day. Law abiding citizens are being disarmed in some parts of the country. Concentration type camps are being constructed by Haliburton's government contract. No one is saying who these camps are for. If you don't believe me you can look it up on the web under concentration camps...)(

military state - be careful with questions you ask, you never know who is listening, or reading. Before you think i am paranoid. remember that lawyer who was taken from his family for weeks, because the FBI made a mistake in a finger print. be careful!

Better believe it. As our civil liberties are taken away one by one; it almost seems that Bin Ladan wishes are being won.

we are led to believe that we are free when we are actually controlled by the government and the elite few we elect to further subjugate us.
