She liked it except the cave parts and when the poles slammed but she was all like "Wow that was so not scary."

Um... I agree with the people who think that six year old kids shouldn't be watching R rated movies. That's just insane. I saw a three year old watching Pirates 2, which was extremely gruesome and creepy, and that was only PG-13. R??? Seriously, people, kids are more sensitive than you think. They'll be scared stiff for life.

I don't care HOW scary 'the Descent' is, taking small children to see those kinds of movies is just insane.

It was not meant to be scary - it was a psycholigical thriller. It was meant to show how a tight knit group of friends can unravel when confronted with a situation which drives them to their limits. It was also meant to demonstrate how sometimes the weakest of us can become the strongest - and vice versa.

P.s. I think you need to reevaluate your judgement - bringing a six year old in to see R-rated movies. I don't care how "mature" she is, she is your daughter not your buddy, she is very much an adolescent in her formative years, and she is counting on you to shape her world into a positive place.

Yea it was a very stupid movie. 40 minute intro before anything good happens, then a bunch of Golems from lord of the rings get beat up by a bunch of chicks, and only kill the chicks because there are a million of them. then the ghost in the end of the movie in the girls car?!!!! it doesn't get any stupider, that film stripped me of any faith i still have in american movies. I cannot believe they said it was "the best thriller since alien", what a crock.

"She liked it except the cave parts"? The whole movie took place in a cave.

why did you let a six year old watch a horror? I personally thought it was really scary bit I wouldn't let a child watch it, more than likely it will give them nightmares.
