Man found dead in a Cornfield. No clothes and hay all around him. What happend?

He was flying a small aircraft which caught fire. He took off his clothes as they were soaked in fuel and jumped out with a parachute. The chute burned and he landed in a field of long grass, killing himself with the impact and scattering grass all around which dried and became hay.

The man must have been incapacitated in some way, already dead, asleep, drunk beforehand. A reaping machine ran over him shredding his clothes off him & possibly killing him in the process.
