Is this symptoms of depression, I am ill and easyly aggitated. I get so pissed off at people. Some days I cry, some days I am okay. I have a 8 month old baby and a two year old. I was Dx.with depression after I had first baby and also my second. But things are differnt this time. First time I was just sad all the time, this time around I am so mad, I stay that way about 80% of the time. I also have much less patience with my kids, I somedays feel like I am honestly going to loose my mind. My OB/GYN put me on zoloft, I had different side effects with it than I had first time so I stoped taking it. My anger is only getting worse. I worry so much about things that I can not get good sleep. I know I have anxiety but every since I had second child it is worse. I am not a perfect person but I never cussed untill lately. I hate that because I never want to say anything around my kids. I just am not myself any more. That in its self is making me nuts! Family Doc or one that gave med?

have your family doc recomend a good pschyiatrist. it sounds like you may have post partum depression and you need to be on medication. prozac is a good one with very low side effects. you should not be pissed off all the time. you have two wonderful children to enjoy. good luck!

Quickly get yourself to a psychiatrist affiliated with a teaching hospital. You need expert assessment and treatment to prevent you from abusing your children. It may be bipolar disorder, as you complain of poor sleep, and irritability. Maybe it's major depression. A family doc or ob-gyn is not qualified to diagnose mental illness.

I had problems after having my kids too. I got some Paxil from my OBGYN but I went to my family doctor and he ran tests to make sure it wasn't my thyroid etc and kept me on Paxil and I've done a lot better. I also took Welbutrin the week prior to my menstral cycle and it helped out so much because I get irritated and just want to eat chocolate.

I would contact the nearest mental health organization and go thru them that way a med doctor and therapist could help you. good luck and congrats on the kids :)
