Have any of you taken a pregnancy test (at when you thought you were about 4 weeks past conception) and still got a negative and later it turned out to be positive? If so why do you think it was? I took one at 4 weeks which turned out to be negative and just feel like i am and have numerous symptoms. I took the test at lunchtime after i hadalready been for a wee and had fluid inside me (so maybe it was too diluted and it was just a little wee) also my period wasnt due due to the fact im on the pill and take three packs and then a 7 day break as i suffer with painful periods.

Basically have you taken a test at about 4 weeks past conception and it turned out negative but it turned out that you were actually pregnant and if so did you find out what reason made it negative? Also when did you take the test morning or afternoon?

It all depends on the level of hcg present in your urine also the 1st morning pee is the best time to do a pregnancy test it has the highest levels in it. If you still get a negative but really suspect you are pregnant just go see your doctor, a negative doesn't always mean no but a positive always means yes.

This kind of thing has happened to me only the home pregnancy test was positive and the one I took at the doctors was negative. My doctor told me that basically the tests pick up the presence of pregnancy hormone which gets greater the further along you are. So basically this could be down to the sensitivity of the test. I would wait a week or two and try again if it's still negative then I would see a doctor.

When I took my first pregnancy test I was 4 weeks pregnant. I could BARELY see the double line(my husband could not see it). I waited another week and took it again and the line popped up instantly. Your pregnancy hormones might not be strong enough to be read by a pregnancy test. Each person is different your hormone levels will be different than everyone elses. So my recommendation is to wait 5-7 more days and if you have not started your period, take another test. If you get unexpected results see a doctor ASAP.

Home pregnancy test are test the levels of HCG in you pee. At 4 weeks you may have just not had enough of the hormone to show up on the test. If you really think you are pg then go to the Dr and have them confirm it with a blood test. If you keep taking the pill you may cause damage to your baby.

There is always a chance for false negative/postive. They are about 97% accurate. There may not have been much of the pregnancy chemical in the urine for a postive test the first time. They recommend the test to be done in the morning first pee.

when i was pregnant with my daughter i did 3 preg tests...2 were pos but 1 was neg
apparantly you can have a neg test result that isnt right but a postive test result is always right.
its always best to do a test when you first wake up in the morning as there will be more of hcg the pregnancy hormone in your urine

i took a digital test when i was pregnant with my daughter and it said NOT PREGNANT however, i was about a day or 2 before when my period was supposed to arrive. I still had the feeling like when i was pregnant with my son and took one at the hospital where I work a week later and it came up positive, you have to wait for the HCG hormone to show up in the body for the urine tests to pick it up and they will apparently not detect it before your missed period due date,

Pregnancy tests measure the pregnancy hormone HcG in your body. This can be stronger with your first morning urination. It also gets stronger the further along you get.
