It depends on what you need altering and if you have any sewing skills at all. If it is just a hem, just turn under the excess and stitch it in place. If it is alot, you may have to cut off some. That gets tricky and you would be better off having it done professionally. Ask them if you can watch so you can do it the next time. A lot of places do alterations for free be sure to ask. Good luck!

I agree w/ some of other answers. So your clothes look 'good' it would be better to get someone who knows what they're doing. I have sewn for 20 some years and it's not my favorite thing to do.
Take tucks at back of waistband to make waistband fit you better. Darts down each side-front and/or back to make it more fitted. Stop just under the chest and shoulder blade area. Baggy in the hips. Turn wrong side out and pin -with item on- how much you need to bring seam in. Good luck!

Get your clothes professionally altered. You can look online to find a local alteration shop or go to a store that sells wedding or prom dresses and ask for the person they refer their customers to. But it would be alot easier and cheaper to ask a relative friend to alter your clothes.

First you need 2 people. Put you clothes on, inside out. Have the other person pin the seams equally to your body. Slip out of the clothes, making sure none of pins fall out( otherwise you have to do over again). Then sew the seams.

If you don't know, don't do it. You may mess it up. Taking to a professional would eventually save you money.

depending on how old you are,
ask your mother or grandmother.
maybe even an aunt,
they usually know how to hem etc.

GET WITH SOMEONE WHO IS GOOD AT SEWING AND HAVE THEM PIN IT WHILE YOU TRY EACH ITEM ON....OTHERWISE, A DRESSMAKER WHO IS REASONABLE WOULD BE BETTER.
