Assuming you have the audio/video out from the direct tv box going into the audio/video in of the tv the easiest way is to just connect the tv audio/video out to the vcr audio/video in.

There are many other possible connections but it would take forever to show them all.

Look for the audio/video OUT ports on back of the DirectTV receiver and run them into the audio/video IN ports on your VCR.

hook your vcr to your dish receiver output and hook your tv to your vcr output,and make sure your vcr is turned to the right channel which is usually channel 3,4,or that av channel.i would try to give you more details but i know you dont need it from me.so whats the point in me going through the trouble of trying to give you more details.
