The odds of winning any turn is always 1 in 2. There's a 1 in 8 chance (1 in 2^3) of it happening 3 times in a row.

The odds for a game have to be looked at in the long term and not so much in such a small sample like three hands. You can take a quarter and flip it 100 times and you may see that it comes up heads more then tails, but if you flip that same quarter 1 million times then the averages should be close to 50/50. If you look at the slots in Vegas and it says it pays-back 99%, well this is true, over the lifetime of the machine it will payback 99%but in the short term it could be only paying back 30%.

One in four to do either, one in eight to specifically win or lose three in a row.

In blackjack, it's slightly higher to lose three in a row (probably close to one in seven) than it would be to win three straight (probably one in nine).
