There wasn't any peace in the 60's ,
War , civil strife , racism ,sexism , and I lived in San Francisco .

What you are talking about is a pipe dream and never existed in reality .
I was a kid in the 60's and I could tell we had serious problems .

Maybe, if anybody else had been interested. But believe me, I was a child of the sixties, and most of us had no clue about the realities of the world, and certainly not about international politics.
See, the thing about making peace instead of war is--hardly anyone is interested in pursuing it but you. And while you're busy walking the walk, the're lining up their sights on your back. Peace at any cost is just another word for surrender, and it usually nets you the same kind of fate.

Free love had more to do with the release of Enovid, the first oral birth control, than any successful peace moment. Vietnam did not end until 1975 and it started in 1956. History not Cheech and Chong.

You think the sixties had peace? It was a time of social unrest and many changes came about through violent means. But it WAS the best decade anyway.

Let's see. In 1970 there were double the unwed mothers as in 1960, oh that's right, that's a plus for liberals. In 1970 there were twice as many people on welfare than in 1960, whoops again, another one for the liberals, they like dependents. The crime rate was twice as high in 1970 as it was in 1960, hah, got one! Liberals still don't like crime, right?

I wish the women of today were as 'open' as the women of the 60s. They weren't so overprotective. Sex was and still is a symbol of freedom and peace. Ladies, please start this trend again. The man have been waiting so patiently.

It was without doubt the best ever but the sad thing about it is that it left a legacy of drugs using that is still with us today

Sure. Only problem is, not everyone was looking for peace. So if all of us did like the hippies, you know, smoke a lil weed, listen to music and get a lil VD, our enemies would come up and kill our peaceful asses.
