It is supposed to make things easier but it seldom does! Think of artists like Bjork. She definitely defies cateforisation. Even Queen fall under all sorts of categories(pop, rock,dance) in the itunes database.Do we really need categories to enjoy music?

I hate categorization. And I dislike music stores that have cds classified by categories - how am I supposed to know what's the difference between fusion rock and electric jazz? not that I listen to any of those two genres. But then again, I might and just not know it. This is driving me nuts!
