This isn't like your usual questions. Have you spent a night in drinking on your own again?

Have to say I am disgusted with both this question and some of the responses.

I'm Scottish myself and think that we all fall in to the trap set for us by the media. Most folk in Scotland (apart from the very ignorant) do NOT hate the English but do hate the insidious and patronising ways of some Southern media types. Also, I don't think many Scot's would want to be English as some of the other poster's have stated.
Long live the differences between us and long live a healthy respect between us too.
Jesus, If we can't get on with our most direct neighbours then who the hell can we get on with?

Reading all the garbage on this thread has made me very angry, at both sides of the divide.

For one, I have never even seen a deep fried fooking mars bar let alone eat one and for all of my fellow Scots out there waging a war of ignorance against the English? Grow up! You are giving us all a very bad name.
Ashamed of you all!

The answer is that english people aren't really up themselves. They have a right to national pride, just like any other nation, scotland included. For some reason the english are denied this most of the time and dismissed as being arrogant just because sports teams etc have had a good run recently. It is more commonly the attitude of foreigners in engand that provoke a reaction by denying them this right to national pride.

i agree with you, im from Glasgow. I live in england now, exeter to be exact and so many times people make sarcastic little comments which they think r funny when its not. they are always making jokes about Scotland.
I would move home in an instant if it wasnt due to my boyfriend. I cant stand how ignorant they are, and your right they are up themselves.

I think you might find that certain people are just up themselves and you determine this by judging them against yourself or other people who are around. I don't see what's wrong with being a little self involved. Is this a football question or just a general thing? If it's football then they have a right to be up themselves 'cos they are better than most lol

Anyone who shouts "Scotland forever" to a group of complete strangers (us) sounds to be up himself quite a long way. So what is it about you?

It does you credit to take pride in your country, but must you do it by criticising someone else's?

Now thats uncalled for. I'm English, with many Scotish friends, and I'm not up myself.

Why are you so worried. The English never even think about the Scots, why do the Scots never STOP thinking about the English?
