heres the story behind the match
At ECW One Night Stand, Funk, Tommy Dreamer, and Beulah were beat by the team of Edge, Mick Foley, and Lita. Midway through the match, Funk was hit with a barbed wire board, and was taken backstage complaining of an eye injury. Funk would later come back (With a bloody cloth tied over his eye) to hit Foley with a flaming 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire. He was later thrown onto the barbed wire board with Foley, and would have to be cut out of it at the end of the match via wire cutters.

Footage of Funk's medical attention may be found on WWE.com, it appears that Funk needed 5 or 6 minor stitches. Also the eye seemed to be not harmed in any major way

I was there that night ,the two had broken a wooden chair on each other Dusty picked up a piece of the chair ,gave funk a bionic elbow then got him in a headlock and started jabbing funk in the forehead several times then all of a sudden Dusty backed off the ref at the time checked on funk then looked upstairs where the dressing rooms were at the armory waived at somebody then lights came on paramedics came rushing into the ring where funk was holding his face in the corner screaming and blood gushing through his fingers, I will never forget!! and I am 50 now I remember like it was yesterday , either Funk cut to deep or Dusty accidently stabbed him with the piece of chair either way it was a great show that night !!

Back in the early to mid-1970s, after a match against Dusty Rhodes at the old Ft. Homer Hesterly Armory in Tampa, FL, Terry Funk did a locker room interview in which he appeared wearing a protective patch over his eye. It was a ranting, raving interview - in the finest Terry Funk tradition! - in which Funk carried on about how Rhodes "tried to put my eye out!" Funk swore vengeance, naturally, snarling, "I've been in some barn burners in my last eight years as a professional wrestler. I've been in Russian chain matches, Texas death matches, no disqualification matches - but the match that I was in with you - where you did this to me (gesturing at his patched eye) was by far the most brutal and sadistic match yet." Just classic freakin' wrestling from a true master!
