And it should NEVER be released because his children and wife do NOT need to see that, ever.

How morbid and awful.

Bad enough that they lost their father/husband.

I just want to say that my family and I are avid "Crocodile Hunter" fans. We have thoroughly enjoyed everything that he has ever done. He has a vibrance and life that draw people to him. However, I would think that in celebrating that vibrance and life we would also honor what he wanted out of life -- which was to show the world animals that we could only ever dream of. He made those real for everyone. He also wanted people to understand how dangerous they can be. Unfortunately his death will now be a symbol of that. I don't see that watching the video would do anything but further the need to be aware of how dangerous animals can be. Seriously, there are whole movies of random--caught on camera--deaths that can be rented at your local video store. And, honestly, did anyone really expect, with the career he had, that he would die of natural causes at the ripe old age of 105? But he will be sorely missed. At least his wife has hundreds of hours of footage that she or the kids can watch. What about the everyday person who loses someone and only has a picture to remember them by? We love you Steve Irwin.

Yes there is a video but according to what i read and heard the police only has a copy of the video, and as far as it not being posted on the web, if u read interviews done with steve irwin then u will know that if anything ever did happen to him , he wanted it on tape. so to just destroy the tape wouldn't be what he wanted, i think he would have wanted it to be public but not in a cheesy way, like one of u said, make it into a documentary or something, but make it big. and let the funds go to saving wild animals.im sure he discussed this with his wife what he wanted done with the tape if his death was on tape. And some ppl r into looking at death videos, I for 1 do because it makes me face my own mortality which isn't a bad thing. RIP steve, my kids and I will miss u very much,God be with his family right now.

well this isnt a answer but a response to everyone acting stupid steve irwin was a person who showed people the power of animals and nature.death is nature. he televised all this and i dont think he is any differant than any other living being.if the video is made public it is not something that will be showed on primetime tv or that his mother father wife or children will be forced to watch, but for those who are intrested in nature it would be avalible to see. he was filming a show called the oceans deadlest. he did pay the ultimate price. i will mourn his death and his family has my condolence. Steve Irwin is a hero God bless him and his family

Why? So you can revel in the gore of this tragedy?
Celebrate the man's life the way the man celebrated his life - as one who understood the delicate ecological balance between man, plants, and animals!
The 'sensationalism' of his death is a grotesque representation of what's wrong with most Americans today. All they care about is the blood-and-guts, the horror, and the "action". We've been primed by thriller movies and TV murders to feed on death and destruction. Why not recognize the value of Irwin's work and salute him for the love, understanding and passion he brought to his work as he educated us about the need to preserve and protect all of Nature's creatures on our planet. Unlike greedy, gluttonous, selfish businesspeople who willingly destroy animals' habitats and lifestyles just so they can rich, Irwin gave his life trying to help us realize the value of every species. His life deserves celebration and recognition. -RKO-

i don't be responsive to, i assume some all people is in simple terms idiots. i be responsive to the Crocodile Hunter could be very disillusioned if he knew what they have been doing to the poor harmless Stingrays and that i'm particular he would not blame the poor Stingray that killed him for questioning it had to guard itself against him.

That is a video that should, out of respect for the family, NEVER be shown to the public. And for anyone to joke otherwise is one sick individual.
