Simple answer = ignorance. He was targetted by the old theory that if you point the finger long enough the ppl will believe someone is suspicious theory.
The republican party wanted to win control of the House and Senate so basically they set out with a huge smeer campaign against him with absolutely NO truths.
Proof in point: when Kenneth Star, the independent council, finally completed his investigation of all the charges against Clinton, ALL had to be dropped.
It was an effective and successful methos to win complete control of congress.
FINAL ANSWER = republicans are stupid, ignorant and lack insight to see through manipulation when they are being used. They are easily controlled by propaganda that motivates their hatred and prejudices.
The republican party is FULL of corruption that goes so far back that I havent had time to research it all.
Nixon - watergate
Reagan - Iran/Contra
Bush Sr. - World Bank scandal
Bush Jr - his entire administration is corrupt from Rove, Delay, Cheney to Bush himself.

I'll start by saying that I was in my teens during his presidency, but I know that throughout my lifetime he was the greatest. I also believe that when the history books get writtten he will be one of the better 20th century presidents. The way I look at it, the whole Republican party has used fear to flourish throughout the 20th century. Before terrorism, it was the cold war... Kennedy, Clinton, and Carter were the only Democrats to serve term throughout the cold, I believe. Don't freak out if I'm wrong. Carter didn't have a spine, and Kennedy really didn't get a chance to fulfill his potential. Therefore Clinton was the only Democrat to really shine in our time of need. A time when jobs were leaving this country and the world was changing. I agree, how could anybody not think Clinton was a great president?

You tell me. All they get hung up with is the Republican witch hunt called the impeachment and never look at the good things which happened. We had a budget surplus (don't have that any more thanks to President Chimp)....the economy was booming (kind of slowing down right now)....we weren't in a never-ending war....gas prices were lower....housing was up, unemployment was down......there were no negatives. Yet all the small-minded individuals can think about is the stain on the dress - so what? Did that effect his ability to govern in any way? Unlike the fool on the hill that we have now, everything has affected his ability to govern, starting with the vacuum between his ears. Bring back Clinton!!!!

The good times during Clinton's reign was due to the policies put in place before him. He enjoyed the benefit of the Reagan/Bush policies. He did nothing to help the country while he was in office and it starting going downhill. Now Bush is getting blamed for Clinton's ineptitude.

He was an amazing president. He oversaw the greatest economic expansion in history and balanced the budget (gosh, there are two FANTASTIC reasons right there, Walter Ridgeley. I guess the fact you weren't aware of them makes you an idiot or something).
As for the right-wing nonsense of "the terrorist loved him" - it's pure bull. He was the first president to actually create anti-terrorism posts in the government. Bush Sr. and Reagan never did, despite the growing terrorist presence around the world. So much for the right being "tough on terror". Terrorists tried one attack on US soil....the perpetrators got caught and jailed....and then the terrorists waited for him to leave office before they tried again. They must have known G.W. Bush would never have the intelligence to catch them....

A president is more then just a man .HE is the leader and the representative of all the people in America .When he found it OK to engage in sex outside of marriage he made it clear that important contracts mean nothing to him .
Re-maining faith full to his marriage vows is one of the things that people can be judged by .
I would of had some respect for him if he came out and said Hillary and i have a marriage of convenience and we both have agreed to allow one another to enjoy being with others .
He lied and made all of us look bad for this .
YOU mean to tell me that a man can not keep it in his pants for 8 years and not drag this nation down to the level of degenerate self indulgent animals.

The military never missed out on getting paid. I'm in the military. We never missed a paycheck. Other parts of government did, but not the military.
And besides I blame congress for that budgetary SNAFU.

I've yet to see a reason to think that he was and, as time goes on, the idea that he was a "great" President will be subscribed to by fewer and fewer people.
The idea that Clinton was a "great" President is laughable on the face of it and nobody knows it better than the "great" man himself - except his evil bride, of course.
