We all become deaf and dumb, and completely unable to communicate through voice?

Yeah, sign language is an option, but how will all the newborn babies learn it?

Um...hopefully we would do what people born and raised deaf already do, sign. I think that the current leaders of the deaf community would become the leaders of the world. Other than that, we would really on vision a lot more than we do now, and make everything visually accessible. Flashing lights would replace a lot of noises, like doorbells, timers, etc... The layout of buildings would change, they would be more round and more open, to facilitate visual communication.
The children would learn sign language just like children of deaf parents do now-- naturally acquire it from birth seeing people use it. And it is true, children can learn to sign before they can learn to speak...the terrible twos caused by a lack of communication could be avoided and we'd have a lot happier parents.

You ask how will newborn babies learn sign. Did you know that it is a fact that babies can learn sign language and communicate in sign much sooner than spoken languages? Babies can learn signs that you teach them and understand.

You mean deaf mute...deaf/dumb is insulting and totally wrong.
Well you still have eyesight and can learn to sign and write and read. Difficult but not impossible.
