My husband said someone got shot on the last episode of last season. Who was it? Did he/she die?

Brass was shot during a hostage situation. Grissom was pretty much by his side a lot he even went and got his daughter. Things did not look good but Brass did survive. I might season ended on cliffhanger Grissom is laying on a bed dressed talking about death (typical Grissom) although not suicidal he mentions his death. Other person he was talking to walks out of bathroom wearing a robe. (Grissom is fully dressed) Person is Sara who is drying her hair (assumption is she just took shower and they have been intimate) Sara remarks I am not ready to lose you yet. No kissing embrace or anything is seen so viewer gets to assume a lot!

I don't know, but I don't watch that. My friends do though! Is it all that exciting though? I thought it was just boring!
