Anyone else miss the days before 24 hour tv when you could catch some really bad/good 60s/70s monster flick or some semi-obscure 70s movie? I do!

I think older sitcoms for the most part, tend to be funnier than today's.
Back in the 70s, sitcoms (mainly thanks to Norman Lear), started taking big chances for the 1st time, so lots of the humor was politically incorrect...but hilarious!

Remember the ABC 4:30 Movie & the After School Specials??
I also miss the original "In Search Of" w/ Leonard Nimoy! I loved the theme music.

What else do you miss on tv?...
I wish they'd put some of those old shows & After School deals on dvd.

We're all missing it together as the 35+ crowd. No "best" answer. Up for the vote...

Thanks --now i can't get that theme music out of my head!

Your totally right--tv now is a dying media--because nothing but shock value stuff is on now! Comedy is nothing but sexual comments and child-ish behavior! But many of the more intelligent shows get the axe -before a fan base gets started.

The only show I think that was funny and smart was FRAZIER
at least they kept true to the characters.

All in the Family, Jefffersons, and M*A*S*H were all fav's!
at least you can buy those old monster movies on dvd-for a very fair price......GREAT QUESTION/STATEMENT!!

Sure do! I miss the old black&white movies from the 30's to the 50's like King Kong, Dracula, Frankenstein, the sci-fi movies of the 50's. The sitcom's were definitely funnier than some of the stuff today. I loved All In The Family. And I miss all the great westerns that were on TV back then.

I do miss those days (Creature Double Feature was incredible!). What I find unbelievable is that, in this day with hundreds of channels, a major network affiliate will be reduced to an infomercial at two o'clock on a Saturday afternoon.

You bet. On weekends, you could always catch some horror flick, or a really cheesy kung fu movie.

I remember staying up late on Friday nights with my dad and watching the old horror movies (Lon Chaney, Boris Karloff, and Vincent Price, etc...). I had forgotten about those times, thanks for the question!
