No, death is never a desirable answer. I might make an exception for the likes of bin Laden, however.
From a political standpoint, that would put Cheney in the White House. Hardly anyone wants to see that. I always though Cheney to be an exceedingly poor choice as Vice President. He's not electable due to his heart condition and is even more of a loose cannon that Mr Bush. Maybe that was W's motivation for selecting him in the first place.

No, death usually doesn't make me happy, even if it happened to a person I thought was a completely worthless waste of skin, like his mother, for example. O.K., that was harsh. I wouldn't be happy, but I would definitely get very very drunk, and I would stay that way until President Cheney got his a** handed to him in the '08 election. I don't think anybody wants to see him running the show, oh, wait a minute...I need a drink!!!

Depends how.
Assassination or lingering illness would be a disaster. It would make people like the useless idiot and remember him with undue fondness.
Embarassingly stupid, on the other hand, like food poisioning off the coast of Alaska (Harding), or heart attack during sexual relations with mistress (Rockerfeller), or stabbing by stingray, or some other such way that merely engenders public contempt, would be just fine.

I don't think its cool to make light of anybody dying, regardless of how lame we think they are...
Remember he's somebody's pops, husband, son, etc.
I do think he has commited some serious errors in judgement during his president, but he has only proved how human he is.
In general I would like the republican party much more if they didnt play up to the "christian" contingent, and if they didn't generally stand against abortion...sure abortion is wrong, but let whoever is facing it to deal with the repurcussions.

I wouldn't have to listen to "clever" Bush jokes anymore, so in a way it would be welcome.
Also, don't kid yourself: you're not getting rid of Republicans. The two-party system isn't perfect but the competition helps keep both of them in line.

I wouldn't be happy if anyone died. If you want to change the people in office: run (for office), vote or just shut up already!

No, who would we make fun of then?
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."
"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"
His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.
Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

No I would not be happy if President Bush died. I will be even more happy when the Republicans win in 08 and the Dem's are boohooing again.
