i dont really know, but ill tell you what really gets my goat and makes me suspicious: i have noticed time after time that when muslims are asked about other muslims clear and incontravertible evil deeds...they are not willing or prepared to criticise those evil deeds and instead use all sorts of evasive weasel words,...and im not talking about 9/11, i noticed that years ago.
this leads me to suspect that vast numbers of that community have an us versus them mentality. [which also by the way manifests in having inordinately interfering concern with the situation of fellow believers in other contries]
if youre brought up in a culture where your religion is the also the law and the politics, and all non believers are viewed as second class citizens and "not one of us",then when you leave that country you are likely to manifest your us versus them mentality when you become part of a minority in a non muslim country.
untill muslims themselves reform their religion and accept that religion is a part of life and not the whole of life, i see no end to islamic terrorism.
i genuinely get the impression that muslims in general dont see themselves as part of the commuinty of faiths, which i think all the other major religions now accept,but still harbour the desire to expand and islamicise the world.
i feel that as long as religion has its claws into the law, the government, and the media, people will not be able to form an identity outside of religion.
this totalitarian monoculture of belief reduces people to a very narrow way of looking at the world, and if its so all pervasive that the culture is such that its not acceptable even to question the tenets and validity of faith, then you get people who cant look at themselves honestly and critically and work out for themselves what is right and wrong, but must always refer to a book 1500 years behind the times.
