why not just switch it so that in england for example when you say soccer you mean american football and when you say football you mean football? when you come to the states all you have to do is take the oppoosite into account...

Why can't the rest of the world just be happy calling their sport football, without asking the USA to change what they call football and what they call soccer?

By the way, the word soccer came from the original name of the game, 'Association football', and America had nothing to do with it.

Soccer, a boring foreign sport measured in meters and played by elementary school girls here in the US. Football, a hard-hitting action sport measured in yards and played by very large and tough men.
