It would be interesting to go back to the Dark Ages. With modern knowledge, you could be king of the world if someone didn't kill you first. The downside is the extreme lack of conveniences and modern medicine.
If you could go back just 100 years or less, you could make a killing in the stock market, similar to the plot of Back to the Future II.
However, I would prefer to go forward 1000 years rather than back IF that didn't mean walking into an uninhabitable planet. There would be so much new to see and do, plus you would be a celebrity: the Man (or Woman) from the Past.

Wow! What a brain buster. I guess forward. I would be interested in what diseases had been cured and the new technology. I'd like to see if the war in Iraq is over yet and if there was even a semblance of what we know or would we be set back 1000 years because of war.

Back 1000 years. It would be awesome to see a whole new world, and then I could also fix the things that I do wrong.

I don't know-I guess if I had a choice, I'd go back because I don't think there will be any life in 1000 years.

uh...forward, unless it was 100 years back. I would much rather see the 1800s or the 1900s. But it would be nice to see what happens in the future too!

It would be cool to go back to a simpler time, but I would think it would be awesome to go FORWARD just think of everything will be different, besides we already know what happened in the past.

Forward- I like the modern convienences of today and don't know how I'll react to the past. But it would be kinda cool to warn people of events (assassinations, wars, etc.) and help change history. Hmm...
