Open TWO instances of MY COMPUTER

Place them SIDE BY SIDE on your desktop

In one, navigate to your current music folder

In the other, navigate to your JUMP DRIVE

Now in JUMP DRIVE, RIGHT-click the backround of THAT instance of MY COMPUTER

On the menu that pops-up, choose NEW, then FOLDER

NAME that folder "MUSIC"...you will probably store other things on that drive, and finding them is MUCH easier if you create folders for each type of thing you'll be saving, then save things to their aoppropriate folder (i.e., GRAPHICS, MUSIC, VIDEO, etc.)

Now double click the new MUSIC folder you've created to open it

Grab and drag the music you want to move from your old music folder to your new MUSIC folder on your jump drive

You can RIGHT-CLICK, and SELECT ALL, and then drag the whole bunch if you want

Most USB drives don't need any additional software installs on Windows, so it should be as simple as connecting the JumpDrive and then looking under "My Computer" for a new storage device. It should be labeled something like "removable storage." you can drag and drop music files and folders onto this drive and it should copy the files. If you want to MOVE rather than COPY (that is to say, destroy the originals) then you can click and drag the files with the right mouse button. When you release the right mouse button, you will be given a box to choose what action you want to perform. Left click the "move here" option.

All done! It will definitely take a few minutes to move music files if you're moving a few hundred at a time.

Follow the directions.

Check the garbage can. That's probably where you put them.
