They are everywhere and there is no food nearby. They are being found in hampers and under clothes. What should we do?

Sounds like you need the services of a professional exterminator. Home remedies are pretty much useless. A Yahoo search for "ant eradication" (include the quotation marks in the search box) yields 856 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find the information you seek.

Good luck with your search.

Most likely looking for water. They are easy to control, put out ant bait or spray. They will go away. There really are not nasty instects, they are clean and keep things clean.

YOU HAVE TO PROFESSIONALLY TREAT WHEN IT GETS TO THAT POINT....THEY ENTER AT GROUND OR SUB GROUND LEVEL AND TRAVEL UP THE PIPES INSIDE THE WALLS DETOURING ON BEAMS AND WALLS UNTIL THEYRE EVERYWHERE....THEY DO BITE TOO......EVEN IF YOU DONT GET A CONTRACT....REQUEST A ONE TIME TREATMENT SPECIFICALLY FOR ANTS....GOOD LUCK .....HAD THAT PROBLEM..THE LONGER YOU IGNORE IT THE WORST IT GETS.

are they carpenter ants?Big black ones?If so they are eating your house, and you'd better call an exterminator.Or you can leave a trail of breadcrumbs out of your house into nearby woods everyday adding new crumbs, and they will go away...seriously.
