What they are going to do is open up the compartments of the arm to find out where exactly your radial nerve is compressed....causing rsd.
Therefore in your brachial plexus in your arm pit, mid humerus in the upper bone in your arm, and then along the back side of your hand.
Exploratory means exactly that, the will explore in the areas of most common/most likely compressed in your arm... looking to release your radial nerve.
Good luck :)

Exploratory surgery is surgery to look for something specific, as opposed to a surgery for repair or to remove something. I have never heard of this being done for a neurological disorder of the arm, however. For complete details, you might want to discuss this procedure with your doctor, if you haven't already done so.

WHEN THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG AND THEY WANT TO GO IN AND TAKE A LOOK. SOMETIMES THEY FIND SOMETHING AND SOMETIMES NOTHING IS WRONG.
