when a kid is kidnapped they call it kidnapped, when an adult gets kidnapped can they call it a kidnapping when it's not a child that gets kidnapped?

actually, you are wrong. when an adult is 'kidnapped' they call it a missing person or a missing person's report.
A person has to be missing or at least 24-48 hours before actually considered missing, that way if they just misplaced their car in the mall parking lot it gives them time to show up.
