It is true that if you wait until the day that you ovulate then you have a higher chance of conceiving a boy. Research studies have shown that the XX (female) are slower, larger, and live longer than that of XY (male) chromosome. If the XY should reach the fallopian tubes and there is no egg... then they usually die off. The only thing that I can say is wait until the day of ovulation. Chart your BBT... or you can buy an ovulation kit (first response works well) and have sex 11-12 hours after you have detected your LH surge... that is a way to increase your chances for a boy. Also... it is said that if a man has a low sperm count that he is more likely to produce more XX than XY... so wait a few days before trying to conceive. Hope this helps. Good luck!!

yes, you are correct. it does give you a better shot of of a boy than leaving it to chance. and the theory behind is better than the silly 'change your diet' or 'have sex on a certian day of the year' myths.
the sperm is responsible for gender selection in the baby. your egg carries an X chromosome & your husbands sperm carries an equal amouth of X & Y chromosomes. giving you a 50/50 chance of a boy or girl as if the X joins your X it will make a girl & if the Y joins it will make a boy.
the reasoning behind it being thought that you have more chance of a boy on the day you ovulate is because boy sperm swim faster than girl sperm, but also die faster, girl sperm swim slower, yet live longer
soooooo, if you want a girl you should have sex & buy an ovulation kit. when you ovulate you should stop having sex - the boy sperm will die off & the girl sperm will be free to get the egg.
if you want a boy you should refrain form sex, but then have loads when you ovulate - the girl spern will hang about a bit, while the boy sperm race for the egg.
this is based on averages, so isnt a guarentee - nature intended that there is roughly the same amount of boys born as girls.
good luck

yes, if you time sex within 12 hours of ovulation the better chances for a boy. Also doggy style works best for boys and you should orgasm right before or at the same time as your husband. The secretions with orgasm make the vagina more alkaline which the male sperm like. For a girl sex two days or longer from ovulation your chances go up. Missionary position for a girl and no female orgasm.

Yes the way it said to have a girl was frequent sex. For some reason the build up is first female. If you wait a couple of weeks or even a week you have a better chance of a boy.
Everyone starts out with two XX chromosomes but later the Y develops. The Y is male.
female is XX

No. The male is responsible for the genetic component of the child (XY or XX), sorry. But, as posted above, at least you would get pregnant.
Zygote, embryo, and fetal sex is determined from conception, when the spern enters the egg. Sperm contain either an XY set of sexual chromosomes, or an XX set. The XY's swim faster and are less influenced by mucosal ph and uterine changes, while the XX's live longer, thus the timing advantages for selecting sex of the fetus. Any zygote/fetus will be influenced by the amount of maternal estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone circulating within the maternal environment, but sexual genitalia per se is not changed from XX to XY or vice versa. It is indeed the male sperm that determines the sex of the fetus. It's pretty basic genetics, I'd suggest a search using the terms gamete influence, sex embryology, sexual genetics.

I read somewhere that male sperms swim faster and live shorter than female sperms. So the theory says that if you only have sex on the day you ovulate there is a better chance of conceiving a boy.

Well the chances of having either gender is 50-50. There are times in your cycles when conceiving a boy are favorable because your uterus is less acidic. Female sperm are more hearty and tough thus why there are alot of girl babies being born. It is hard to tell when you uterus is less acidic but watch you cervical mucus. If its clear and thin then you have a bit better of a chance conceiving a boy. Good Luck!

This will sound really wierd, but I know at least 3 couples it worked for. Your husband needs to do sex when he is NOT tired. The theory is that "girl" sperm are much tougher, than the "boy" sperm , so if he is tired, the girl sperm win out, and keep swimming to the egg. If the husband does sex when he is feeling energetic it gives the edge to the boy sperm as they are supposedly faster. ( As I say, just a theory, but I have seen it in action)

Yes, but also, there are more things you should Know, the men sperm carries both male and female chromosome, so if the woman has a diet that is either acid or basic it gives more chances to either sex to win the race to the egg, and also it depends on the men diet too since if he has extra male hormones his spermatozoa should be more male too. So I recommend you to check your diet for a month before you try again.

here one for you, the more often you have sex the better the chance of a girl, its a proven fact that the female sperm last longer then the male sperm but the male sperm swim faster, so space the sex out more like every 3 or 4 days
