If he didn't bother to listen to you, why would you want him back?
Why did his cousin do something like that? I'd confront his cousin for the liar that they are. If you really want him back, you're going to have to get the cousin to admit he lied. Consider recording the conversation for proof.

Move on if his going to listen to his cousin over you then his not worth your time find someone else who will actually listen to you and believe what you tell them
