All you want to do is make the disk clear. The actual recording is on the back of the silver coating on the top of the disk. Try plastic polish.

The best way to attempt saving a CD, is to purchase a product called the "Disc Doctor" it comes with a small cd-player looking device and fluid, you put your CD in there and spin it around a bit, and of course, it doesn't take out all scratches, and some disks are beyond repair, but I have seen it work some small miracles.
Good Luck

You can buy bottles of scratch repairing liquid and you rub them into the CD with a cloth, or you can get machine things that rub the liquid into the CD for you. Either way they work quite well. Try a CD store.

I have heard toothpaste wiped on and smoothed off. However I have never tried this. I make a copy of my original cd and then use just the copy. Scratched copy, throw out & make a new one.

Best way is to make 1 copy of it (for your own personal use of course) which then has no scratches on it has it is easier than cleaning because when you clean it you end up scratching it so then you have even more scratches on it

To guarantte a clean and scratchless CD, try these guy in my source. It easier and smarter to deal with a company who makes a living only on fixing CDs.

You cant remove them but you can raise the data.
Take it and put tooth paste on it then rinse it in Hot water and see how it works. Or you can buy A Cd Doctor and that should help it.

They make products to fill in scratches. If the creams or machine works make a copy. I copy all my cd's and use the copy. Then if it gets scratched I can make a new one. If you make copies only for you it's legal. Your just protecting your investment!

You can use a spray-on CD cleaner. You can get at Wal-Mart or Blockbuster. You just spray it on and then wipe it off.
