Try Terro Ant Killer. It comes in a little orange box, you put a little bit of it on a small piece of carboard and place it where you've seen ants and the ants all come to eat it and it kills them. Throw away the cardboard piece when necessary and put a new one out until they're dead. It's great stuff, only $4 and you can probably find it at any local WalMart, Sears, Lowe's, etc.

Raid - Ant, Roach and Earwig killer. I had ants galore in my kitchen and sprayed the counters. Killed them all. Then I sterilized my counter tops to get rid of the spray. Haven't seen an ant since I sprayed.

Bug sprays? I bought this sticky paper in the market and put some candy in the middle. They get stuck like that and you can just throw the peice of paper along with the ants out.

they have ant baits. don't spray pesticides, they will just move someplace else. when you see a trail of them, after you kill them spray with lysol to get rid of their pheromones or more ants will come "looking" for the missing ones. they follow each other through scent so you have to stop the smell. if they are using something for water, such as your dishwasher, put a capful of bleach into any pooled water in the bottom and they won't be able to drink it anymore

Toro ant killer is the best but its toxic to you if ingested. I put it on small pieces of cardboaed and tuck it behind crack and creveses. It works! another thing is boric acid, it kills ants but again Just because you can wash your clothes in it does mean you should ingest it. You can use either product but watch small children and pets.

Last I checked, keeping food away doesn't kill ants. They find it somewhere else. Your foot kills ants pretty well, so does RID... it's bugspray.
