Maybe because if you can SEE everything that is going on, it can inhibit and distract you away from it being the sensual experience love-making is SUPPOSED to be! Unless you have been with your partner for a very long time, and feel totally comfortable with it - "lights on" seems to reduce the whole thing to a "recreational" act, not an act of "love". Men tend to place more emphasis on things like "technique" or "positions", and not what REALLY matters - things like "emotion" - and "passion".

I don't know about other people but i do love to do it with lights out because the senses become stronger, every touch feels twice as much, because you are not distracted by what's going on your body is able to assimilate everything with a lot more intensity, it is true that some people need visual stimulation but that's not the case with me i like to feel the person's warm breath all over my body without me knowing what will happen next

Having sex in the dark gives the couple more intimate feelings and better performance. In the light it seems couples are more shy and kept seeing each others body more than enjoying sex.

My bf sex faces make me want to laugh and I'm sure mine aren't much better! Plus I get distracted if I can see around the room. Now, if I can be blindfolded while the lights are on, that's ok.

I think it takes some of us back to childhood, where our mother and/or father would caress us to sleep. Love and tender care administered nightly, and enjoyed as grown ups. I like to have sex when the lights are low or off myself.

I think its a personal preference...I prefer candle light if I had to choose, but big bad daylight is fine w/ me also!

because it's dark, and you can't see each other very well. I think people that are in secure about the way they look prefer it that way!

So they don't have to see how ugly their partner is. Actually, I don't really know. Shyness maybe? I like it either way, if it's really, really dark you can fantasize about anything if you can see your partner then it's a turn on to watch them make love.
