No, no, no! You have it got it the wrong way round!
British people think they are on ANOTHER continent altogether. They know they are on an island, but it is their continent.
Europe, Australasia, Asia, South America; North America, the Indian Sub-Continent, Africa, Antartica and The Arctic - those are all places of no interst and no relevance whatever to the Brit.
Just same old been there done that triv.
It's the seas you see. Thats where the attraction lies. Not in the land masses.
From the very beginning of time, or even Once Upon a Time, every Brit baby had to be put into the sewer-soaked Channel when he or she was born. If they survived, they were welcomed back and programmed into saving their continent.
As the continent was so very, very small, they had to sail the seas and pretend other land sightings simply didn't exist.
Please don't burst their bubble! They might just sink.

Because, at heart most British people are still quite proud of this little Island.

We don't have everything right, but we do our best. For example, free national health, education, and welfare support for all regardless of creed, colour, or status. This sets us apart from nearly everywhere else in the world.

We also have a monarchy. It could be argued, the only real monarchy left in the world. A king or queen is higher than a politician or a president in our eyes, so that automatically makes us commoners better than anyone else too. It's There may be a lot of republicans living in Britain today (there always have been), but we've tried to ditch the monarchy before and it didn't work.

Finaly, most people refer to us as the United Kingdom. It has a nice ring to it, but remember, we are still Great Britain.

"British" people do not think they are on a continent. They KNOW they are part of the continent of Europe.
The rest of your question makes no sense at all.

Sounds like you are feeling a bit of pitty for yourself. Where are you from? What is your agenda? You would'nt be French would you? Or Irish? The world is full of cocky people. Be true to yourself and who you are. To hell with rest.

It's like the story of the frog in the well. He could only see a small patch of sky but he thought that's all there was.
