You can delete the history of search bar on ur homepage (whatever it is either Yahoo! or Google) by following this path. Tools> internet options> content> auto complete> clear forms. To stop the generation of history uncheck the box of forms.
You can delete the search history on ur yahoo toolbar this way. click the arrow in the search box. Select options, click clear history. Follow this path also. Pencil> toolbar options> uncheck the boxes of enable auto complete and enable history> ok.
To delete address bar history, follow this path. Tools> internet options> general > clear history > set the number of days to zero> ok.

This should help:

there is a program called CCleaner , and its free. just download that and make sure you check all the boxes. it will also erase history , cookies , and saved passwords as well but its the only way i get to erase search bar stuff

go into your options under the tools bar and go to history. there should be an option there to erase the history.

Depends what browser, if you're using firefox, press ctrl+shift+del, or if you're using IE go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Clear History

Change to the General tab
Then push: Clear history
To get rid of it forever:

To above - you don't need to use CC cleaner or any other program, you just need to block all that stuff.
To block everything in IE
Tools - internet options
You should be in general. From here you can block your history if you wish (Don't delete it).
Get out of there, and go into privacy. You can move the slide to the top to block cookies. Move to the next tab, Content.
Autocomplete - unselect everything, press all the buttons.
Go back to general - delete history.
And that will get rid of everything. In mozilla you just go into
Tools>Options>Privacy and disable everything you want.
