As far as importance of marrige is concern, literature suggests several reasons like -to protect women from the invaders. Probably it is also needed to guard our society from the sexual corruption.
I think marrige without harmony has no meaning because it makes the things worse (It happens in society). It has importance only when there is love, faith, proper understandings .........so on between individuals.

like I told my daughter who lives 12 hours away: legally marriage will allow her or her finance to get medical care for the other in case of emergency.
Other than legally, that piece of paper (marriage license) is nothing. The love you hold for each other is the important thing. Now sometimes having that paper makes you work hard at keeping together. My husband and I have been together for 31 years and during that time it has be difficult to work thru our problems, but it has all been worth it because we are each other's best friends and are enjoying life together so much.

Marriage is important to show a commitment. A promise to always be together no matter what may occur. There are several different forms of marriage, but they all have the same thing in common. The promise to commit.

It use to be that people got married to have a family. Now a days, that does not matter as women have babies whenever they want. The institution of marriage is becoming a thing of the past. To bad religion is fading and people just do what they want to without regards towards how it will affect future generations.

Marriage is important only if you want to make it legal for insurance or joint property. It's only a piece of paper...I think one should get married only for legal reasons.

it is halal way of having a relationships.
its reduces the gazes of the husband and wife in looking at other men or wife if u kw what i mean. it is to have children the halal way. we should encourage our son's and daughter get married
