Yes, Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter, was jabbed in the heart by a sting ray barb. It happened while filming an underwater documentary in the Great Barrier Reef. Sad, but true.

yes a very large stingray barb died in a Helicopter on the Way to the Hospital in Australia, sad day, Great Loss, God Rest His Soul(news update ) correction it was a barb, but it went into his lung different news channel, he was doing a documentary on them when it happened currently up dated sorry for the first report but that's what they said, CNN most trusted name in news

yes, a sting ray has a small bob on the end of it's tail and he got to close. The bob stuck him under the rib and close to the heart. The poison killed him...
