Why is it that when asking silly or jokingly offensive questions people can't see them for what they are? I find that some of the best comedians are ones that step over the line because it's fresh and somewhat taboo. Why do people get so angry that they make belittling or violent statements? Do some people just need to be more open-minded or am I being too close-minded?

Whoa! Please realize that when comedians do this, they are speaking. When we do it here, we are writing. There is NO way to include inflections in writing, so writing for real or writing for irony or jokes cannot be distinguished easily...give a helping hand when writing for fun..make sure it is a little more obvious. Good luck

In this day and age, people are so worried about offending people that they get scared when anyone says anything over the line

You can't pick up on someone's tone in written form. It's not always obvious that someone is joking. If you want someone to know your question is a joke, post it in the joke and riddle section.
