I'm not sure it would work as it wouldn't be British. It was bad enough having a British team 'Americanise' the concept in the 1996 movie. But then, Depp's quirkiness would work for the Doctor, and he and Burton can do no wrong.

Depp is a good actor and eccentric to boot but the Doctor HAS to be from the UK (preferably without a Welsh accent)...sorry but there it is...Tim Burton as director, now that would work!
My suggestion for the Doctor...David Walliams, maybe even in a dress!

Much as I like Johnny and Tim, I don't think it would work. Part of Doctor Who's charm is that it's quirky, cheesey and cheap in a way that only the British can acheive.
Then again, I didn't think the Miami Vice remake would be any good but I loved it. So, you never know.

Very dark with a gothic feel to it from Tim, and a sense of fun and genuis from Johnny. Altogether making it so cool!!! They both rock!

The doctor has been, and always should be, a Brit. Sorry, i respect Depp, but no. Who is a British classic, having a Yank play him would just confirm Hollywoods cancer *shrugs*

brilliantly, could you imagine how wierd and interesting it would other than depp making everything gorgeous. it would be odd seeing him with all the sci fi equipment after seeing him in pirates of the carribean though.

Wow, i'm sure it would be good. Everything they have done so far has been brilliant, add them to Doctor Who and I'm sure it would be a hit with all.
