Of course they can,I know I do.And my favorite toy is my dear boyfriend.
But besides him I prefer playing video games and I have teddy bears they are enough and if it makes you feel better I watch cartoons. It doesn't matter how old are you, the way you feel is more important. :)

army men and hot wheels...no, that's a little silly. but remote control cars, video games, and slot car tracks, things of this nature, these can be considered hobbies and at least slightly more acceptable.
