The saga of Marc Bolan (a.k.a. On September 16th, 1977, Marc and Gloria were returning home in the wee hours of the morning from a club. Gloria was at the wheel as Marc, despite his love for cars, had never learn ed to drive. On a tight curve in Barnes Common, Gloria lost control of the car which left the road and hit a tree. Just weeks short of his 30th birthday, Marc Bolan was killed instantly.
Maria Callas also died on this day. She was an American born Greek soprano. The most famous following the Second World War.
