They take it really seroiously and i take softball seriously too! 4 of my "kind of" friends are on the team and i might be able to get a good friend to play with me. I don't know if i should play for them though....
you don't have to try out or anythig but i wouldn't get to play pitcher (which is my reg. position) i would end up playing 3rd base or something. this is a GREAT opurtoity for me but should i do it?? PLZ ANSWER THIS AND HELP ME DECIDE!

ask yourself how you'll feel about it in say 10 years.

I say play now or you'll kick yourself for this the rest of your life.
If you got friends on the team--and even playing 3rd--who is to say that in a month an injury hits and you become a go to pitcher on the team.???

Maybe this will lead to something even more exciting in the future

Nothing wrong with working on other positions. You're more of an asset to your team when you can pitch and go third base and stuff. Maybe you could be an alternate pitcher! If you know a lot of people who are on the team, it could be a lot of fun! If you are truly serious about it, why not? Besides, the teamwork skills and the people skills you learn playing a sport come in handy when you get a job in any field!!!

What do you think is funner, playing with 4 friends on a team thats your pace. Or is it a bad team with no friends that doesn't practice a lot, but you get to be pitcher.

Just from what you said, i say you would be better off on that good team. Besides, you could always ask to be the back up pitcher, in case the main pitchers arm gets tired, or he gets injured. Now back up pitcher may be a comprimise, but its better then nothing isn't it?

Having practice every other day and/or everyday is a hard schedule. I'm not sure what your negative feelings are about not joining the team - you really didn't go into that - but I would say that if this practice schedule doesn't interfere with other obligations you might have - and the fact that your "kind of" friends are not a bother - then go for it. You do say it's a great opportunity. Go with your gut feeling.

That sounds like a great opportunity. If softball is what you love doing, why not do it? It's a great chance to spend time with your "kind of" friends and to meet other people who enjoy doing the same thing as you. I think you should do it, you will probably regret it later on if you don't. Good Luck!

Just like anything in life...you can't start at the top. If you really want to play for a successful team then I would jump at the chance to get on the team and then try out for pitcher later. Rather try an know then pass on it and kick myself in the a55 wonderin' what coulda happened...But that just my opinion

Yeah of course! Just think of it as just practice for you.
I've been playing softball for 6years and my best positon is short stop but im still good at all of them. A true softball/baseball player would know how to play all the positions and just learn to have fun when playing!

I would, even if you don't get to pitch, it will give you the opportunity to play another position and learn the infield. If you are serious about playing softball in college, you will need to have experience in other positions. Go for it!!
