Herpes is a complex "syndrome". If there are visual or tactile lesions, then the virus is being actively shed, and contact with the virus provides a better than average chance of transmission. Small "micro-tears" in tissue will allow transmission much more easily, thus sexual intercourse (as opposed to sitting on a toilet seat) is an act that has a high probability of transmission. If there are no lesions present, the virus may still be shed, although transmission rates are low. It is no more "easy" to transmit from one sex to the other.

I'm not sure about that, but more females have herpes than males. 1 in 5 males have herpes, 1 in 4 females have it, and 45% of black females have herpes as well as 45% of females with one hispanic parent.

Herpes is passed equally between the sexes. If you think you have come into contact check with your local clinic...it's not fun, but there are different types. There is no cure, but you won't die from it, you will just have flare ups througout your life, but it can be passed from person to person by kissing and sexual contact. It goes to your DNA and becomes part of it...and keeps reproducing and that is why you will always have it if you get it. Go to a local clinic, (planned parenthood) for anonymity and get some info.

BOTH- we often don't care once we are horny!
Men can see it- warts or bumps, or adhesion's (flaking).
Woman often time can't tell if they are carriers.
Always, always wear condoms. Wash yourself with anti-bac soap after wards and get tested. Never have oral sex if either party has the virus unless its over condoms or dental damns.
Cold sores are indicators of the person being prone to the virus, most Americans have been exposed by age 10. Its not a sex thing, its a virus thing. It is underestimated that 70% of all sexually active adults have the virus (active or dormate). Open sores- avoid that area.
Good luck- depressing stuff huh. Yeah- reality suxs!
Be safe! Once exposed- you have it for life! Medications just hide the symptoms of the virus. You still have it.

Herpes isn't more communicable by either sex, it's spread is still a bit of a mystery. In general anyone with open sores around the mouth or genital area or empty bottles of valtrex strewn about their bathroom would be more likely to give you herpes that peple who don't exhibit these traits.

usually men carry most std's cause they don't have symptoms and they never treat them, while women have symptoms and they treat them. with herpes it's different, guys have symptoms too. so i guess, the same passing.
