You have to be willing to do the work :)

If you have a positive outlook, ideas on how to improve your school, a love for your school, those are all the qualifications you need.

Once you decide you want to be vice-president, you have to start lining up a team to help you run. A great way to get people to vote for you is to have them on your team so ask every friend you've ever had in the school to help you.

If you want people to take you seriously, ask them what they want to see improved in the school. Not only will that let them see you want to hear from them, it'll give you an idea of what needs to be improved. When you ask them what needs to be changed, also ask them what their favorite thing about the school is. That will give you a balanced perspective.
