Because if it's spelled incorrectly it may be a different word- and the meaning can be completely different.

Use spell check only takes a second and you know it is right.
We get down graded if we put up a message without spell check trying to teach us to use it. So I guess as she says in the real world it is important so learn to use it. Missing a capital on the front of a sentence another point lost. Poor grammar?

Well, seeing as im English, it winds me up when people cant even spell my own language properly. Its just the right thing to do, spelling makes conversation intelligible and, hell, easy.
